Contest! :)

Hello everyone!

It has been a crazy year for me, and I just submitted my third book for publication! This new book is the first in a new series and I am completely stoked about where my career is heading! Life is good. :)

In honor of things going well, I would like to do a contest for any readers interested in free books! I would love to give away 2 ebook copies of each of my books. The books are  #1 & 2 in my Slayer Series "Be Still the Night" and "Out of Darkness". I will keep the contest open through October 29th and the winners will be drawn at random. I also have some goodies that I will mail to the winners as well.

Inspiration has struck :)

Well it has been a while since my last post. But after I attended The Romance Convention 2012, hosted by Siren Publishing, I have a renewed vigor for writing. I have always had a passion for writing, but I am now more sure of what I want to do with my life than I have ever been. I meet some absolutely amazing people at the convention and got a lot of spectacular advice. :)

Books 1&2 of the Slayers series is out and book 3 is in progress. I have also started a new series and book 1 of the Ambrosia series is in progress.

My blog (as you can see) as well as my website www.shannonreckler.com have been updated, and I hope to keep them as current as I can. I also now have a fan e-mail, shannonreckler@hotmail.com, and I would love to speak to anyone who would like to talk to me.

Life is Crazy!

So lately things have been incredibly hectic! However, book 2 is in the publication process and is set to be released on August 2nd, 2012. I am completely stoked for that one to release!

Book 3 is in the works and for those interested it is Thera's story! We have hit a few bumps in the road. (Thera is quiet and can be difficult at times) I am trying to pry the story out of her, but it's going to take some time.

Life is crazy at the moment and finding time to write is difficult, but I'll manage. I hope everyone is enjoying book 1!

Oh the Horror!

Gah! I would love to be writing all the time, but life keeps getting in the way. Go figure. I am almost done with book 2 and it's so close I can feel it. Unfortunately I can't touch it however, because all of my time is currently being spent on college and work. How I hate pizza! Hopefully, I can make money of the books eventually and then I won't have to work in food service anymore. Well, a girl can dream anyway.

I am getting more and more excited to attend the Romance Convention in August. I am looking forward to broadening my horizon's and meeting new people as well as successful authors.

Hopefully, I will finish book 2 in the next two weeks. I am hoping to submit it on May 1. :)

Edits!

So yesterday I finally got my edits for book 1! I panicked at first because it looked like I had royally screwed up everything, and they hated it. However, with the help of an amazing friend, I calmed down and realized all the comments are just to make me a better writer and be more aware of how the story flows. Also, I have to chose whether to make the novels more steamy, or tame them down a little to go mainstream. I believe I have chose to up the sex factor, so any readers be warned. I do have an awesome story line, but there will be graphic sex. So now, I am working on getting everything in the next week. I'm actually hoping I can accomplish them by Sunday night, but I guess time will tell. So...I am off to edit for the rest of the night.
